Chevy Fit 4 Life Tour

Yesterday I was lucky enough to join some of the awesome local fitness bloggers and enthusiasts for Driving the Southeast’s Chevy Fit 4 Life Tour in Tampa. It was a day full of fitness, fun and Chevy vehicles.

I arrived at 1pm at the Lifestyle Family Fitness in Hyde Park to meet up with the group. We were met by our tour guide for the day, Emily, and her personal trainer.

We started with a quick .25 mile run to warm up than wasted no time getting into the boot camp style class. We broke into 4 groups and started with 1 minute long circuits of TRX, push ups, abs, kettle ball, burpees and ropes.

After 8 circuits and a set of lunges we had a friendly plank competition for a week long test drive in a Chevy of your choice.

The Meghans (yes, 2 of them) dominated that competition. Meghan held a plank for something insane like 4:30. Way to go Meghan… you’re a champ!

After our class were given the keys to the cars and sent on our way to lunch.

My group was set up with a brand new Chevy Malibu.

Lunch was at a place I’d never been to, or heard of, before. Fitlife Foods is a quick service style restaurant for the health conscious.

They serve pre-packaged fresh foods. Each recyclable container is marked with the caloric value as well as the fat, protein, carbohydrate and fiber. You can get one meal at a time or stock up for the week. A family came in with coolers while we were there to get their weekly meals.

They also have a team of Fitlife Wellness Coaches who can help you reach your fitness and weight loss goals.

If you choose to dine at their store they have a microwave available to heat your meal.

One thing I noticed, the vegan options were very limited. Like, limited to the veggie tray with roasted red pepper hummus. Which was good, but not practical for me to make a week’s worth of meals.

The jicima in the veggie tray was awesome! I always forget about it when I’m at the store but need to start buying it for the house.

Overall it was a good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed trying a new place.

After lunch we got back in or Chevy’s for the next stop on our tour.

I was so excited to see Painting with a Twist on our agenda. Even though I’m an incredibly challenged artist, I have been wanting to try this place for a long time.

Painting with a Twist is an instructed, paint your own canvas studio. There are several in the Tampa Bay area.

A few weeks ago, the Chevy Fit 4 Life blog had a survey for us to fill out to select the painting our group wanted to do. Our group chose the “Little Black Dress”.

Our instructor, Tobey, was great with directions and really made it easy. Good thing seeing as how I can barely draw a straight line.

My masterpiece.

I loved how different all of our paintings came out. No two dresses looked even remotely alike.

After Painting with a Twist I finally got my turn to drive the Chevy back to Lifestyles.

Group shot with Caitlyn, Meghan, Beka, Rachel, Caroline, Jules, Jess, Christie, Kaite… anyone I missed?

What an awesome day! It was great to try out new places and make new friends (in real life). Everyone was so patient about taking a million pictures. Thank you to Chevy Fit 4 Life for having all of us crazy bloggers at the event!

  1. That sounds like such a fun, incredible day! (Full discloser, my company works with GM and Chevy on some PR and marketing initiatives but I did not touch this project nor did I even know it was happening so I’m really enjoying reading all the recaps!) It’s cool that Chevy organized a day around activities you’d normally enjoy anyway. I definitely love the idea of a plank challenge for a week test-and-drive! That’s some incentive right there!
